Heritage
In our globalized world, an increasing number of students find themselves without a traditional “mother tongue”. This is either because only one parent has German as a native language and/or because their education has taken them to a third (most likely) English-language environment. These individuals may be quite fluent speakers of German but frequently struggle with reading and writing at an advanced or even elementary level. Die Hofmeisterin teaches German literacy as well as deep-reading skills to third-culture students and students at bi-lingual and international schools.
Die Hofmeisterin offers individualized one-on-one tutorials for students who want to
- reintegrate into a German-language educational environment
- prepare for the International Baccalaureate’s (IB) in German Language A
- look for support while pursuing the IB’s self-taught track for the DP German Language A exam
- expand their learning opportunities in literary studies and textual analysis
